Where are you located?

We recently relocated our office operations to Kampala, Uganda, from Nairobi, Kenya, but operate throughout the East African region.

Our business and shipping addresses are:
Penn Station, Shop n.18, 7th Street, Industrial Area Kampala, Uganda
P.O. BOX 28392 Kampala, Uganda

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business for 20 years.

What do you do (what are your products)?

We have a passion for helping you with your construction needs. We design, fabricate, ship, and construct structures (offices, shops, hotels, clinics, houses, etc) of all sizes for clients utilizing Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF) and other pre-engineered solutions (sometimes called ‘Flat Packs’). These materials provide an alternative to using bricks or wood as building solutions and offer several benefits over traditional building materials, as you can read below.

What are some of the benefits of your Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF) solutions?

Some of the benefits of Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF) include:

  • Due to the light weight of light gauge steel, buildings can be constructed in less time than it takes with other materials, saving building costs.

  • Light gauge steel frame buildings won’t rot or corrode. The long lasting nature of light gauge steel makes the product a smart investment.

  • Light gauge steel material is recyclable, and thus more environmentally-friendly.

  • Light gauge steel can be clad and insulated with a wide variety of building materials to create a look that matches your vision.

  • Compared to other materials, (wood, for example), the weight to strength ratio of light gauge steel is better.

  • Light gauge steel products have the lightest foundation requirements, resulting in reduced time and costs of construction.

  • Modifications are relatively easy to make during the lifetime of a light gauge steel construction.

While building with LGSF may seem slightly more expensive than average masonry in East Africa, the numerous advantages makes it more cost effective and professional in the long run.

What applications is LSGF construction mostly used in?

LGSF construction can be used for residential, commercial and institutional buildings.

Can you supply just the main frame and/or roof trusses only?

Yes we can, and this is a very convenient option for local contractors.

What other kind of pre engineered solutions aside from LGSF does Fullbore Africa offer?

We offer customized containerized solutions (for offices, classrooms, clinics, shops, etc) both from scratch as well as from shipping containers. We also pre engineer and install decks and camps for lodges and tourist attractions and in general are open to any construction project you may have in mind.

What do you finish the walls with?

We can use a variety of coverings such as cement fibre boards, magnesium oxide boards, and corrugated roof sheeting externally. Internally we may use gypsum, MDF, ply board, etc. It depends on your budget, preferences, and intended use. In Uganda we may also use local brick for the walls.

What are the floor/foundation options?

We can use either a prepared traditional foundation or we can supply a steel frame with marine plyboards. In both cases, floors can be topped with ceramic tiles or carpet.

What about the roof?

We can do all types of roofing, from iron sheet and clay, to shingles and stone-coated metal tiles.

Can you do full wiring and plumbing as well?

Yes we can do full wiring and plumbing at an affordable cost and in a very professional manner.

How many stories can you build?

We can do ground floor plus one. If you have an existing structure with a slab, we can add two more floors.

How does the frame connect to the foundation?

The frame is secured to the foundation with various rawl bolts. The structure is very sturdy and can last for many years without damage.

Can the unit be relocated?

Yes, but relocation plans need to be discussed with us beforehand so we can factor that into the construction of the unit.

Are your structures built to international standards?

Yes. Our software caters for all factors as per international requirements.
